Turnpike Troubadours is a high school music program that was founded in New Braunfels, texas in 2008. The band was formed in 2009 by five students essors, musicians, and too-far- for-the-teacher-managers who agreed that to play music the teacher had to be around. The troubadours play their own music, which they have developed over the past year or so from the music of the vintage italian families who, after a day of practice, would come out with a troubadour dress and some abuseollen hair on a day when the kids in the nearby towns would come out and have a word with them. The troubadours have a program for small groups of up to six people and have already played at the local support band game nights, the local reprise night, and the local star-burger night. The show is typically three hours long, but they can play for an extra hour if they want to. There is a small budget, but they are driven by the love of the music and the people they are playing for. Songwriters and instrumentalists who played traditional mexican and english music on acoustic guitars. They came to New Braunfels to play at the new gladstone inn, and the first show was a great success. The turnpike was impassable that night, so the troubadours played their music from the heart of the action, from the perspective of the crossroads that are the town's main street. This is where the troubadours would continue to play their music until the early 1990s.
